An Organizational Assessment by a New Leader

Introduction

A structured, comprehensive examination of an organization’s operations, working environment, and culture is known as an organization assessment (Weer & Greenhaus, 2020). The formulation of recommendations and action plans to facilitate the attainment of goals is governed by the organizational assessment process. A nursing care model called shared governance was devised to encompass essential concepts and principles that professional practice maintains to provide outstanding care. To design an organizational evaluation structure and analyze the current condition of shared governance, a combination of viewpoints, encompassing structure, administration, and culture theories, can be adopted. By identifying the distinctions between the diverse theoretical vantage points, one can acquire insight into just how shared governance systems were developed and utilized.

Discussion

The shared values and principles that have been established by leaders make up an organization’s culture, which defines how employees in the organization should conduct themselves (Weer & Greenhaus, 2020). The personality and values of the firm, as well as how they are interpreted and implemented by the people, are all key aspects to consider when assessing organizational culture, but you can do this by engaging with leadership and staff to make sure your ideals are in accordance. The organization’s culture can also be examined by looking at programs to determine sure they are in line with the company’s values and culture. One should take into account nursing’s role in patient safety to create an organizational assessment to determine the current level of safety of patient care. This can be achieved by evaluating the capability to manage and incorporate the various aspects of quality across all of the care provided in the given setting, including that directly provided by nurses. If shared governance, the culture of the organization, and the safety of patient care are all operating as they are supposed to, then the organization will be running effectively in all aspects.

Conclusion

Overall, to assess if each of the above areas is functioning well, one needs to have a look at the impact the organization has had on its workers, clients, and community in general.
