Aspects of Leadership Styles

Introduction

Leadership is a vital career aspect for me because I want to be able to help people through my strengths and abilities. Although I have not yet formed a consensus on what motivates this desire, I think competent management and help are part of my duty as a member of society. In my leadership, I pay attention to the qualities that contribute to leadership development as part of my professional responsibilities.

Approach to Leadership

Leadership skills allow you to lead people, help them achieve their goals, and plan their work according to their objectives. These skills include personal character traits (e.g., willpower) and professional traits related to negotiating and talking (e.g., active listening. I believe that to lead a team, I will need to use quality responsibility and ethical behavior skills. It is essential to develop a severe attitude toward the team and for me to manage them. In addition, creativity and the ability to set self-conscious goals will help me establish competent leadership. Among professional communication skills, I would single out confidence, thoughtfulness, and openness because they allow not only negotiation but also subordination and respect in the team. I would need to develop more resourcefulness and a stock of emotional resources. I am inherently introverted and somewhat shy, so to manage effectively, I need to learn how to present myself as a leader, organize work processes and define professional and personal boundaries.

Leading and Following

Good and competent leadership is the ability to determine in time what contribution the management or autonomy of the team is making at the moment. Management is critical for a team to build morale and trust and establish ethical and professional values. A team needs a leader because it requires secondary control and extra insurance in unexpected incidents. The team needs to be autonomous, so following a leader’s qualities in the group is critical. The leader must trust the team, give feedback, and enable autonomy. Although this is a thorny path because of the complexities of building a team’s organizational work, the following will allow the team to clearly understand its capabilities and apply them to the specific task. As a leader, I will strive to create an environment where each employee feels safe. In addition, I will assign responsibilities to the staff’s strengths, and as a follower, I will include myself in the plan. Sometimes I will need advice from my employees because this is their main field of work, and I will be comfortable seeking help and advice.

Leadership Style

I plan to pursue a combination of participative and servant leadership in my leadership because they fit best with my management skills and ideas. Participative leadership allows for team management and dynamic development for all employees, including the leader. Shared decision-making, using each team member’s skills and knowledge, and individual strengths are all part of participation. It should be used with a dynamic team through strategic collaborative interviews and activities. Servant leadership is a particular type characterized not only by active participation in decision-making but also by being socially oriented. It seems to me that servant leadership is an opportunity to demonstrate all the personal qualities of a leader and his sincere desire to strive for the best based on the understanding of duty and responsibilities to the community.

Conclusion

In my practice, I will use servant leadership to incorporate socially significant assistance into my work plan (for example, charity), to test the results on the usefulness to society and the safety of our products.
