Essential Experience
Demonstrated practical experience in procurement and logistics management, including supply chain management and distribution assistance in the framework of public logistics. Second, at least 5 years of relevant managerial or coordinating experience in the logistics industry is required. Additionally, at a management level, the officer should have a track record of managing strategic procurement and logistics. Should also have budget management knowledge and the ability to create timely, accurate, and full reports. Have a thorough understanding of the local regulatory system, including customs clearance and importation procedures.
Education
A Master’s degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, Business/Public Administration, or a similar discipline is required. Instead of an advanced university degree, a first-level university degree combined with requisite qualifying experience may be accepted. Certification and membership in CIPS, the International Society of Logistics (SOLE), or through the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) and/or other procurement practitioner certifications would be a huge plus.

- Develop a proper procurement lead time and supplies that are time-driven and definite in the cycle

Purpose of the Job/Position Within UPS
This position is primarily responsible for ensuring that all procurement and logistics-related operations are carried out in line with UPS procurement and logistics rules and procedures. Oversees operational tasks including supply chain management, purchasing, facilities, and fleet management. As the procurement specialist will be in charge of establishing and standardizing operations processes and systems following country office guidelines and directions. Collaborates with colleagues from other departments to identify system needs and build innovative solutions that will allow for more timely, efficient, and accountable operations. Support preparedness planning, instructional material development, training facilitation, and staff mentorship.
