Leaders often have to select the right leadership style following different situations. This is why it is important to know which one will be most relevant for a particular job. I believe that the most effective style is the so-called transformational leadership. It fits me best since such leaders tend to be honest and inspire people to be optimistic about the future. They are friendly with their team, set goals, and motivate others to achieve them.
Transformational leaders use charisma and enthusiasm to inspire others; they focus on the values, ideals, morals, and needs of the organization and the team (Buil et al., 2019). The main purpose of this type is to stimulate others by establishing group interest as a priority. Such leaders use the setting of non-trivial goals as a means of motivation (Buil et al., 2019). This process is based on such interaction with the team, in which the needs for personal self-actualization and professional self-realization of its members are met by the leader in exchange for achieving organizational goals. Thus, being a transformational leader in counseling means gathering a strong team of motivated specialists for whom the interests of the group are more important than their own. It also implies providing the team with conditions that will move their needs to the maximum level along with the Maslow pyramid. Being such a person means working, inspiring, and motivating so that each team member can grow into a leader over time.
This style is close to me because I believe that a transformational leader can establish relationships with the team in which performance can exceed expectations. I think that this type of leadership can change my life as a counselor and become the reason for positive transformations. It is a perfect fit for doing business since such leaders expect 100% return from every team member, and from themselves in particular. With this style, high productivity and the involvement of each employer are quite common.
