Management Information Systems and Its Impact on Globalization

Management Information Systems (MIS) is the study of people, technology, organizations, and the relationships among them. The MIS field is responsible for developing and implementing systems that allow organizations to manage their data and resources more effectively. This field profoundly impacts globalization by helping to make organizations more connected and efficient. The advantages of this technology-driven globalization are huge and will only rise in the future.

MIS impacts globalization because markets are no longer local or regional or suppliers of goods or services. Global marketplaces allow enterprises, and even governments, to concentrate on their competitive advantages. When firms can obtain labor, knowledge, and skills at the lowest possible cost, production becomes more efficient, and expenses fall. Other crucial aspects include social and political stability, transparent legal and governmental systems, and a robust educational system if an area wants to participate in this new global economy (Radović-Marković & Brnjas, 2019). While there may be some uncertainty as the globe becomes increasingly interdependent, the advantages will far outweigh the transitory costs.

In addition, the internet has had a tremendous influence on the development of globalization. As a result, additional countries, regions, and continents can engage more effectively. The management information system (MIS) is a record-keeping instrument that aids in effectively administrating marketing, finance, production, and people. Information technology influences the economy in addition to e-commerce, marketing methods, globalization, job insecurity, and work design. As a result of these advances, new product concepts and business strategies emerge (Floyd, 2006). Technology may help businesses save money by simplifying procedures and cutting expenses.

To summarize, the influence of MIS on globalization has several positives. As a result, businesses have been able to create things at a lesser cost, resulting in more excellent consumer living standards. Globalization, on the other side, has made it simpler for new enterprises to enter and compete in the market. The rise of the commerce industry has resulted in more individuals becoming employed.
