Sodexo U.S.A. Company’s Mission, Culture and Philosophy

Background and Services

For more than 50 years, Sodexo has been recognized as the world’s leading food and facility services provider. Sodexo was established in 1966 in Marseilles, France, by Pierre Bellon and is currently majority-owned by his family. Their partnership with some of the world’s largest corporations, supported by approximately 470,000 workers in 67 countries throughout the world, has lasted more than 50 years (Sodexo, 2020). Sodexo provides a variety of Personal & Home Services tailored to meet today’s consumers’ needs and their unique lifestyles. Their services are available to their clients’ workers at every stage of their lives, including early childhood development, adolescence, and adulthood (BOSS Editorial Team, 2020). They also provide concierge services to make life simpler for our clients’ employees as they grow and mature and home care services for seniors and adults who wish to remain independent in the comfort of their own homes.

Mission

Sodexo is comprised of a diverse group of customers, consumers, workers, and stockholders. To meet the expectations of all of its stakeholders, they know that sustained expansion is the most effective strategy. They also think their work must have a purpose for everyone involved; therefore, they’ve been faithful to their mission, fundamental values, and ethical standards since 1966. Over a typical day, their 420,000 workers work together to improve the Quality of Life for individuals they serve across the globe (Sodexo, 2020). On-site Services, Benefits, and Rewards Services (previously Motivation Solutions) are among the company’s goals to increase people’s well-being, process efficiency, and infrastructure dependability and quality.

Culture

When it comes to building a performance-based culture, it is all about differentiating employees. This is based on their contributions to the business, rewarding and recognizing their achievements, and identifying and developing the talent critical to their future success. Sodexo released Aspire in 2019, a streamlined performance evaluation and development platform for its 5 000 managers throughout the globe, to strengthen its performance culture (Sodexo, 2020). Aspire connects the ambitions of managers directly to the objectives of the organization. When used in conjunction with the key performance indicators (KPIs) from the strategic step one framework, Aspire enables workers to show tangible performance impact and contribution to the company’s success.

Philosophy

Their success is dependent on our ability to conduct ourselves ethically, which is an essential pillar of our dedication to responsible business behavior and social responsibility. Corrupt activities and human rights breaches are unacceptable to us, and we have zero tolerance for them. As a corporation, they have earned and will continue to earn the confidence of our clients, customers, partners, and other stakeholders. A new pay concept was also implemented to improve performance culture and encourage ownership via various mechanisms.
